Passenger Gives Packet Of Wet Wipes To Taxi Driver So That He Can Disinfect His Car
As the Covid-19 situation worsens, more people are retreating into their homes to protect themselves from the virus.
Not every Singaporean has work-from-home privileges, though. Among them are our everyday taxi or private-hire drivers, whose jobs can’t be done at home.

A kind taxi passenger has recognised the risks these drivers are taking to maintain their livelihoods and decided to show some support in her own little way.
The passenger gave the taxi driver a packet of wet wipes to help ensure he had the supplies to disinfect his car.
Gave taxi driver a ziploc bag with wet wipes and a note
A netizen claiming to be the daughter of the taxi driver posted on Reddit an image of a ziploc bag filled with individually packaged alcohol wipes.
She told MS News that her dad received it from a “Chinese auntie”, though he no longer remembers where he picked her up.
The kind Samaritan even printed a note on blue-coloured paper, advising the taxi driver on how best to make use of the wipes.
Besides the interior of the car, the note also advises the driver to clean the door handles too, both inside and outside the vehicle, as passengers would come into contact with them when they use their hands to open and close the doors.
And if any of the passengers are sick, they would potentially pass the illness on to the next passenger via these common surfaces, if they are not disinfected properly.
Small act goes a long way
The auntie’s thoughtful act gave many netizens something to be thankful about in this difficult period.
Despite her gesture being of a simple nature, it managed to warm the hearts of netizens.
Some netizens identified the wipes as being from Zappy wipes, a local brand that does not come cheap. Yet, the passenger was willing to give a whole stack to her taxi driver.
It doesn’t take much to support one another, benefit the community
This gracious act, while seemingly small, actually has an impact on society at large. It will help both drivers and passengers keep themselves safe from infection, and through that, prevent them from infecting more people in the community.
It also shows Singaporeans that it doesn’t take very much at all to support one another in times of trouble.
Kudos to this passenger for the generosity and love she is showing to her community.
