Toddler suffers internal bleeding after leeches enter her private areas
A toddler, aged between one and four years old, suffered internal bleeding after leeches entered her body from swimming in the floodwaters in Kelantan, Malaysia.
A hospital staff, believed to be a doctor, shared that the girl had to change diapers two to four times a day as they quickly filled with blood.
Earlier this week, she posted a video recounting the incident. The clip has since garnered nearly a million views.
Clinic staff found “things moving” inside her private parts
The doctor shared that her clinic staff were overwhelmed by a case the day before that involved a female toddler requiring emergency treatment.
The toddler was bleeding “below”, but clinic staff could not find any wound or injury when they examined the area.
It was not until they performed scans on the toddler’s private areas that they saw “things moving”.
They soon realised that the moving objects inside the girl’s body were leeches.

According to the doctor, the leeches entered the girl’s body as she was playing in the floodwaters without wearing diapers.
In light of this, the doctor urged parents to keep a watchful eye over their kids during floods to ensure their health and safety,
