Work at Jurong Region Line worksite halted after worker falls 9m
The upcoming Jurong Region Line (JRL) has seen another workplace accident following a fatality in January.
This time, a worker was hospitalised after falling 9m at a JRL worksite.

SCDF alerted to incident on 4 Dec
In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to an incident at about 3.45am on Wednesday (4 Dec).
The location was a construction site near Block 737 Jurong West Street 75.
Google Maps images show that extensive construction work is taking place along Jurong West Street 75 for the JRL, including the stretch immediately outside the block.

A person was conveyed to the National University Hospital (NUH).
Worker fell from metal platform at Jurong Region Line worksite
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) was quoted by The Straits Times (ST) as saying that the worker fell from a height of about 9m.
He was working on a metal platform as part of construction works on the JRL.

Work at JRL worksite halted
Work at the JRL worksite has now been halted, according to LTA, so safety processes can be reviewed and strengthened.
LTA is working with the contractor, China Railway 11 Bureau Group Corporation, to provide assistance to the injured worker.
It is also helping the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) with its investigations, which are ongoing, it said.
This is the second accident involving a worker on the JRL this year.
On 4 Jan, a 27-year-old worker fell 7.5 metres at a JRL construction site, also near Jurong West Street 75.

He died after being conveyed to hospital.
In October, a metal rod from an elevated track section of the JRL fell onto the road below, narrowly missing a truck.
