Bishan CPF Closes Temporarily After Confirmed Covid-19 Case, Reopening On 1 Apr
On Monday (30 Mar), the Central Provident Fund (CPF) announced the temporary closure of their Bishan branch on Facebook.
Prior to being tested, a Covid-19 patient had visited the building, necessitating thorough disinfection of the facility.
As such, the Bishan CPF branch will close until Wednesday (1 Apr) and appointments are currently being rescheduled.
Disinfecting Bishan CPF branch
According to CPF’s statement on Facebook, a member who tested positive for Covid-19 visited Bishan Service Centre around noon on 23 Mar.
Upon receiving this information from the Ministry Of Health (MOH) on Sunday evening (29 Mar), CPF decided to implement a temporary closure of the building.
Until Tuesday (31 Mar), the service centre beside Junction 8 mall will close for thorough disinfection.
This precaution is introduced on top of more frequent cleaning procedures over the past few weeks, ensuring the safety of future visitors.
The Bishan CPF branch will be reopening on Wednesday (1 Apr).
Members visiting Bishan CPF branch can use alternative services
CPF assures that appointments over the closure today (30 Mar) and tomorrow (31 Mar) will continue on later dates, in order to meet members’ demands.
Meanwhile, citizens can visit alternative branches at Maxwell, Jurong, Woodlands and Tampines should they have any urgent requests.
Online services are also available and members can easily access them via the official CPF website or myCPF app.
Be socially responsible citizens
As the Covid-19 situation in Singapore seems to take a turn for the worse, citizens are encouraged to stay at home and refrain from travelling.
Unless necessary, try to avoid crowded places and large gatherings. At least, practice social distancing and adhere closely to MOH’s guidelines during this crucial period.
