White Mercedes Crashes Into FoodPanda Rider On Boon Lay Way
On 10 Mar, yet another careless blunder cost the life of an innocent road user.
A white Mercedes rammed into a motorcycle along Boon Lay Way at Jurong East Street 11 junction.
According to Lianhe Zaobao, the driver ended up severely injuring a 41-year-old food deliveryman.
Unfortunately, the motorcyclist did not survive the accident, as he succumbed to his injuries at Ng Teng Fong Hospital.
Car driver went fast at traffic junction
We learnt that the fatal accident occurred on Tuesday (10 Mar) at 7.55pm.
From a video posted by SG Road Vigilante, we can observe the white Mercedes going at quick speed as he makes a right turn.
From the footage, it would seem that the driver failed to check for oncoming traffic, directly ramming into a motorcycle approaching from the opposite direction.
Upon colliding with the car, the motorcyclist and his vehicle were hoisted up in the air, landing at least 30m forward.
The driver subsequently crashed into a traffic light structure, leaving it utterly destroyed.

Motorcyclist taken to hospital
At around 7.58pm, authorities were informed of this fatal accident, reports Lianhe Zaobao. The motorcyclist was unconscious when found.
Despite rushing him to the hospital ASAP, the 41-year-old did not survive the brutal collision.
According to Lianhe Zaobao, the victim was a Malaysian and worked for FoodPanda as a deliveryman.
Netizens are reportedly searching for his family members on social media sites like Facebook.
Car driver arrested
The police arrested the 36-year-old for his reckless behaviour and they are currently investigating the incident.
He can potentially be charged for dangerous driving causing death.
This accident highlights the importance of road safety, to always remain vigilant when behind the wheel.
