On 3 Dec, Soh Rui Yong emerged as the fastest local runner at the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon with a timing of two hours, 40 minutes and 33 seconds, winning a cheque of S$10,000. He ranked 22nd overall in the race and 17th among the male runners, with Kenyan David Barmasai Tumo emerging the champion after crossing the finish line in two hours, 14 minutes and 15 seconds.
