Woman finds cobra stuck in husband’s sock at home

Recently, A woman in Malaysia was shocked to find a snake, later identified as a cobra, inside her home.

She shared her alarming discovery on a Threads post on Wednesday (4 Feb).

She stated that the incident occurred the previous day, when she was working from home.

Upon deciding that she needed to take a shower, the woman headed to her bathroom and stumbled upon a snake lying on the edge of a chair.

In disbelief, she did a double-take and realised the reptile was actually stuck inside her husband’s sock.

Husband runs away upon learning about snake

The woman joked that the snake must’ve gotten dizzy inside her husband’s sock.

But she later clarified that the sock was unused and had fallen out of the clothes basket.

Because of its predicament, she said the snake was wriggling a lot.

The woman ran out of the room to tell her husband about the snake.

However, she shared that he “immediately ran out of the house” in fear.

Civil Defence Force officers identify snake as cobra

The woman said she initially considered dealing with the snake herself, but she feared it was venomous.

Her husband’s siblings arrived sometime after the discovery, but they too were terrified.

So, the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (JPAM) was alerted to capture the snake.

“But because JPAM asked for photos and videos [of the situation], who did you think ended up taking them? Me, of course,” she wrote.

The officers eventually caught the snake and identified it as a cobra. Despite its small size, they said it was poisonous and could devour an elephant.

“Thank you to the brothers and sisters of JPAM for being crazy quick. I was a little embarrassed for giving them a hard time,” she mentioned.

Woman suspects cobra entered room from toilet bowl

In response to comments, the woman mentioned that they live in a landed house, but said many others have shared similar encounters in apartment buildings.

She added that there were no bushes around their residence, but there were big trees.

She suspects that the cobra came into the house from the toilet bowl, as it was “wet and sticky”.

Some netizens believed that the cobra was attempting to seek shelter in her home, to escape the scorching weather.
