Indonesians Evacuated From Wuhan Arrive In Batam, Immediately Sprayed With Antiseptic & Quarantined
The Wuhan virus is spreading like wildfire and many countries around the world are doing their best to contain it. Whether it’s quarantine, travel bans, or more health checks, every country has their own way of preventing infection.
Indonesia recently evacuated 245 Indonesians from the Hubei province, and their innovative way of preventing the evacuees from infecting anyone has caught a lot of attention on Facebook.
Take a look at the video below to find out what we mean by “innovative”.
Evacuees immediately sprayed with antiseptic
The Star reports that the evacuees underwent medical check-ups before departing the aircraft.
However, they were in for a surprise once they stepped out of the airplane.
It’s not exactly everyday that one would be greeted by hazmat-suited medical officers and a full-body spritz of antiseptic.
In the video, the evacuees look perplexed as the medical officers in neon yellow hazmat suits douse them in antiseptic with industrial-sized sprayers.

One of them even does a twirl. Probably so they can get an even coat of antiseptic spray?

Evacuees quarantined immediately after
Immediately after being sprayed by antiseptic, the evacuees had to board another plane, bound for the Natuna Islands.
The reason for this is that they have to be quarantined for 14 days there.
Indonesia doesn’t have any confirmed cases or deaths yet, perhaps due to the measures they’ve taken to keep their country safe.
We applaud their efforts, and hope that they continue to have a zero-count.
Multiple countries have cultured the virus, including Singapore, and we’re positive that the top-class researchers working on it will find a solution in the near future.
Until that time, wash your hands whenever you can – there definitely aren’t enough hazmat suits and antiseptic spray to go around.
