Man falls from building in Taiwan, striking passer-by
On Tuesday (25 June), a 33-year-old man plummeted from a high floor of a residential building in Taiwan, striking a woman below.

The incident occurred around 9pm on Zhongshan Road in New Taipei City, Mirror Media reported.
Miraculously, the woman, identified as 27-year-old Ms Lin, sustained only minor injuries to her hand and refused medical treatment.
However, the man, Mr Yu, was found covered in blood with multiple fractures and showing no signs of life.
Emergency responders rushed him to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead due to the severity of his injuries.

Man was allegedly deep in gambling debts
Further details emerged suggesting that Mr Yu’s fall was connected to substantial gambling debts.
According to SET News, Mr Yu owed NT$1.8 million (S$75,000) and had arranged to meet with his debt collector, a man identified as Mr Yang, along with several others.
The group allegedly assaulted Mr Yu, who, in desperation, attempted to escape by climbing out a window after making an excuse of needing to use the restroom.
Authorities have since summoned Mr Yang and his accomplices for further questioning regarding their involvement in the incident.
