Old Chang Kee’s 11.11 Promo Is So Popular, Almost All Items Disappear Quickly
If you’re single on 11 Nov and were planning to go to Old Chang Kee for some comfort food, there may be bad news for you.
After announcing its 11 items for $11 deals, Old Chang Kee shops saw extra long queues and many of their items running out at the speed of light.
Some netizens were even surprised that certain items were not included in the deal because the poster was not specific.
Queuing for at least an hour
Many customers seemed to have to queue for at least an hour before they could get their hands on the goodies.

Since the sale was highly anticipated, we’re not shocked to see queues this long.
No time for chicken wings
Many netizens said that the chicken wings were sold out by the time it was their turn.
One netizen shared that she saw the frozen wings in the sink thawing. Since Old Chang Kee had announced the sale beforehand, she expected the staff to have defrosted it earlier.
Another shared that he went to 3 different outlets but all shops told him that there were no more chicken wings.
Sudden ‘terms and conditions’
The poster did not have much fine print except for “limited only for items in the warmer, while stocks last”. Thus, some netizens who went down were dismayed when staff suddenly gave them some ‘terms and conditions’.
A netizen asked why some items in the warmer weren’t part of the promotion too.
A netizen was peeved that the poster didn’t specify that it was 11 items per person. He even queued for close to 2 hours before being told no.
Not a vain attempt for all
Of course, not all customers were unsuccessful.
This netizen even took to Twitter to boast his ‘haul’.
