Student in Taiwan falls into tracks as train approaches
A high school student fell off the tracks at Taiwan Railways’ Xinwuri Station at 5.44pm on Friday (25 Oct), just as a train was approaching.
The boy’s attention was not on his path, but on his phone, causing the mishap.
The aftermath of the incident was captured on video and posted by @luke_jia_01_03 on Threads.
Other passengers helped high school student
In the video, a worried train station staff was seen approaching the tracks and looking for the boy who was involved in the incident.
A man calls his attention to a boy wearing a school uniform, surrounded by middle-aged passengers.
The staff seemingly checked on the boy before signalling the train driver to resume operations.
According to the OP, many people on the platform immediately helped the boy get up after his fall.
The train driver also reacted quickly and hit the brakes, preventing an accident.
According to CTI News, the train’s body did not touch the boy, thanks to the train driver’s alertness.
Student falls into train tracks while playing games on his phone
Taiwan Railways revealed that the high school student named Cai accidentally fell into the tracks while playing games on his phone.
They also stated that service staff at Xinwuri Station went to deal with the situation as soon as possible.
Fortunately, the boy only sustained abrasions on his left elbow and left on his own after his wound was bandaged.
