Car hits elderly female pedestrian on Balestier Road
On Tuesday (30 July), a vehicle was caught on video colliding with a pedestrian crossing Balestier Road.
The footage, shared on SG Road Vigilante’s YouTube channel, shows an orange Mazda MX-5 hitting the elderly woman near the Loy Kee Best Chicken Rice restaurant.
The impact knocks the pedestrian to the ground.

She remains there briefly before pushing herself into a sitting position.
Driver & passenger run out of car to help elderly pedestrian
Immediately after the collision, the car halts abruptly in front of the pedestrian.
Two individuals, a male driver and a female passenger, exit the vehicle and rush to assist the elderly woman.

The passenger kneels beside the pedestrian while both she and the driver attempt to help her stand.
However, the elderly woman gestures to the passenger, remaining seated on the ground and appearing dazed, as the clip concludes.

It is unclear whether the driver called for ambulance assistance.
Speaking to MS News, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that it received no reports related to this incident.
The condition of the elderly pedestrian remains unknown.
Netizens call out driver for carelessness
Many viewers criticised the driver for his carelessness and failure to watch for pedestrians, especially when approaching the stop line.
