Don Don Donki Reportedly Opening New Outlet At Paya Lebar

Don Don Donki‘s niche of offering inexpensive Japanese groceries products has proven to be a hit among residents in Singapore and perhaps none is a better indicator of its success than the number of stalls that has spawned of late.

In a few months’ time, the Japanese chain supermarket will reportedly be opening another outlet at Paya Lebar Quarter mall — the store is slated to open in Q2 2023.

This marks their 15th outlet in Singapore and is also the fourth outlet in the East besides existing ones at Jewel Changi Airport, Downtown East, and Tampines 1.

New Don Don Donki outlet at Paya Lebar will be 4th in the East

On Wednesday (22 Feb), Don Don Donki teased the opening of its new outlet in a Facebook post.

In the animated video, the store’s mascots, Donpen and Donko were seated in a train with a backdrop of the city’s skyline.

As the train moves off, the familiar announcement “Change at the next station for the Circle Line” hints at the location of the new outlet.

A sign in the background also suggests that the new outlet will be opening in Q2 2023.

However, the biggest giveaway came at the end when the intercom announced that the train was arriving at Paya Lebar Station.

Some shoppers have since managed to pinpoint the exact location of the new outlet.

According to one Facebook user, the outlet is located at Paya Lebar Quarter, one of the three malls surrounding Paya Lebar Station.

Additionally, the graphics on the renovation boards followed the train theme in line with the teaser video on Facebook.

However, it’s unclear which floor the new outlet will be on. Another Facebook user speculated that it would be located on the fourth storey of the mall.

This marks Don Don Donki’s 15th outlet in Singapore and its fourth in the East.

The existing outlets in the East are:

  • Downtown East
  • Jewel Changi Airport
  • Tampines 1

With Paya Lebar’s relatively central location and its status as a public transport node, we’re sure many will flock to the new outlet to satisfy their Japanese food cravings.
