Tower Transit bus crashes at Jurong East Bus Interchange, company investigating
A Tower Transit bus was involved in an accident at Jurong East Bus Interchange.
While initial social media posts claimed the incident occurred on 17 Nov, 8world News reported that it took place earlier, on 14 Nov.
In a video uploaded to the Singapore roads accident.com Facebook page, the cameraman is heard remarking in Chinese: “Take a look at this bus.”
The green bus appeared to have veered off course, crashing into a pillar near a pedestrian area.
Several staff members in high-visibility vests gathered around the stopped vehicle, appearing to discuss the situation.
The video also showed significant damage to the bus, including a cracked windshield and a dented front left corner.
Slight damage to the building struck by the bus was visible as well.
No passengers on board at the time of the accident
Speaking to each other, the interchange staff members seemed amused about the accident, laughing at times.
“Wow, how could this have happened?” The cameraman asked as he examined the front of the Tower Transit bus.
At one point, a staff member suggested the incident might be related to the driver failing to stop the bus, but the video ended before further clarification.
According to 8world News, Tower Transit confirmed that the bus was not carrying passengers at the time, and the driver was unharmed.
The company has launched an investigation into the incident.
MS News has reached out to Tower Transit for additional details.
