In a Facebook post published the same day, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) announced that RTSO Train 01 had reached Woodlands North Station for its scheduled train demonstration.
Describing the arrival as “another major milestone in our journey towards seamless cross-border travel”, LTA said the development marked a key step towards the long-awaited RTS Link, which is expected to significantly ease congestion along the Causeway.
The authority added that final preparations are underway, with the system on track to begin operations by the end of 2026.
5-minute journey between JB and Woodlands
Once operational, the RTS Link will offer a swift five-minute journey between Bukit Chagar in Johor Bahru (JB) and Woodlands North in Singapore.
The rail line is designed to carry up to 10,000 passengers per hour in each direction, helping to reduce congestion at land checkpoints and improve travel reliability for daily commuters.
