TOTO draw on 21 Oct will be a cascade draw, jackpot could be split
The TOTO jackpot for the draw next Monday (21 Oct) has snowballed to an eye-catching S$10 million.
According to the Singapore Pools website, the draw will be conducted at 9.30pm that night.
No Group 1 winner on 10 Oct, 14 Oct & 17 Oct
The TOTO jackpot snowballed after three consecutive draws on 10 Oct, 14 Oct and 17 Oct failed to produce a Group 1 winner.
The last draw that had a Group 1 winner was on 7 Oct, when one punter took home S$3,073,546.
So far, there was one Group 2 winner on 10 Oct, two on 14 Oct and four on 17 Oct — but no Group 1 winner.
This caused the Group 1 prize to increase from S$1.2 million on 10 Oct to S$2.9 million on 14 Oct, and then S$5.6 million on 17 Oct.
TOTO jackpot on 21 Oct to be split if no Group 1 winner emerges
Accordingly, the draw on 21 Oct will be a cascade draw, which is typically called in such a situation.
That means the jackpot will be split between the Group 2 winners if no Group 1 winner emerges.
If there are no Group 2 winners, the prize will be split among the Group 3 winners, and so on.
Cascade draws are typically pushed back to 9.30pm from the usual draw timing of 6.30pm, according to Singapore Pools.
Sales would also close later at 9pm.
Last S$10M draw was on 9 May
The previous time the jackpot snowballed to S$10 million was on 9 May, also after three consecutive weeks with no Group 1 winner.
After the dust settled, one lucky winner took home a whopping S$13,123,509 all for themselves.
The winning System 7 ticket was purchased via Singapore Pools’ Account Betting Service.
